The Story

Citrullus lanatus

Days to Maturity: 100 from transplant

Pueblo Watermelon Mix produces diverse shapes, striping patterns and sizes of delicious, sweet, refreshing watermelons. Pink, sweet flesh with abundant seeds you can save and plant for generations to come. Drought tolerant, desert-adapted watermelons only need minimal water! Original seeds sourced from Native Seeds/SEARCH and a few different batches from Hopiland.

Planting Instructions: Start Pueblo Watermelon seeds indoors 3-5 weeks before last spring frost and transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Or sow directly in the ground in well-draining mounds or rows (3 seeds/mound with mounds spaced 5 feet apart, or seeds spaced 12" apart in rows). Do not overwater.

Seed Saving Instructions: Choose fully ripe, tasty fruits for seed saving. Fully ripe fruits will thud (echo slightly) when knocked. Dry seeds on a screen or cloth. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.

Approx 15 Pueblo Watermelon Mix seeds per packet
