The Story

Phaseolus vulgaris

Days to Maturity: 55 (snap); 85 (dry)

Tiger's Eye Bean is an heirloom multi-purpose dry bush bean from Chile & Argentina. Eat young pods as snap beans, shell pods as they fill out, and harvest dry beans after they fully mature! Bright orange beans with maroon stripes are a beauty to behold, like a tiger's eye. When cooked, the skins disappear, leaving a superior smooth and creamy flavor.

Planting instructions: Sow Tiger's Eye Bean seeds 3-5" apart outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. No need to trellis. Keep moist until germinated. Do not overwater.

Seed Saving Instructions: Allow Tiger's Eye Bean pods to fully dry on the vine. Pick dried pods into a bin and crush to dislodge beans. Store beans in a paper or mesh bag to ensure they dry fully and remain dry.

Approximately 30 Tiger's Eye Bean seeds per packet
